Mega Man Universe details from PAX
September 05, 2010, 06:22:20 AM by Klavier Gavin
Subtle implication that there's more than one type of play style; trailers only showed the "tip of the iceberg."

Customization is a big part of the game. Capcom rep. strongly hinted at a stage editor of sorts.

Ryu, as well as the three Mega Man variants, are confirmed as playable characters. Hints of a large roster of playable characters.

Not only do the three Mega Men differ in appearance (Mega Man, Bad Box Art Mega Man and Rockman), they each have their own play styles and abilities. Bad Box Art Mega Man, for instance, can fire two shots at a time.

The "angry" Mega Man was designed by Masafumi Kimoto. Why is he so angry? That's just Kimoto's style, apparently.

Although the trailers made it seem like MMU is largely influenced by Mega Man 2, there's a "very good possibility" we'll be seeing content from other Mega Man games.

Mega Man Universe not making it to Wii has to do with the file size limitations of Nintendo's WiiWare service. Capcom noted they would like to be able to support a Wii version, but couldn't at this time.

Target release date of Spring 2011.

"Everything we've shown will make more sense" come Tokyo Game Show, according to the rep.

Rockman Kai: Arrange Shitemita will be at TGS and we won't be
September 02, 2010, 08:13:48 PM by Protoman Blues
More music makes PB something someting...

First Dragonball Kai and now this. Wait...they have nothing in common. Ah well, the important thing is that TGS, and soon after all of us, will have new MegaMan music to grace our files. Here's the track list, via Protodude's Rockman Corner which is via MMN:

01. Blow Through Tornado by Team Nekocan (Rockman 9 Tornadoman)
02. Snake dance by Shachou (Rockman 3 Snakeman)
03. DIVING DAY by Yamadan (Rockman 4 Diveman)
04. RELOADED by Soy-SOUTH (Rockman 5 Napalmman)
05. Upside Down Phenomenology by Deadball P (Rockman 5 Gravityman)
06. Imitation Castle ~To The Castle of Lies~ by kanipan (Rockman 5 Darkman)
07. Scissor Head by Sound CYCLONE (Rockman 1 Cutman)
08. Thermal Power by IOSYS (Rockman 6 Flameman)
09. Knightmare night by Princess Tissue & Yutaka Sekine (Rockman 6 Knightman)
10. I’m BUBBLEMAN by Hyadain (Rockman 2 Bubbleman)
11. Power of the Unknown ~Eight Power of Rock!~ by JUNCA (Rockman 2 opening and staff roll)

as well as bonus songs from Team Neko that essentially let us know that beating Airman is impossible, Eddie mocks you with weapon energy, and a night of Megaman 1 can be a long one.

Hey look, a 20 minute preview. Rock on!

-Thanks once again to Protodude's Protoman Corner and Blues Network.

If Gamers Needed Another Reason To Go To PAX...MEGAMAN UNIVERSE
September 01, 2010, 07:53:17 PM by Protoman Blues
Look. Free stuff none of us are getting.

According to posts on RPM, via Protodude's Rockman Corner, via Capcom-Unity, via possibly the Inafune himself, MEGAMAN UNIVERSE, that new MM game to which we've seen nothing besides kick-ass trailers of, will be at PAX Prime this upcoming weekend. Apparently, actual gameplay will be shown as well as levels, new trailers, and free swag all of us wish we could get. So hold onto your E-Cans ladies and gentlemen, for we might actually have some more information coming to you this "Mega-weekend."

-Thanks to Protodude's Rockman Corner and his sexy info, TheOnly for his initial topic, and Acid for making me make this.

Also, on a personal note, I have been going to PAX for about 4 years now. I missed last years PAX in Seattle, but was able to go to PAX East this year. I've said it before and I will say it again; PAX is an event gamers should try to go to at least once in their life, because I truly believe that their is no experience like it for our exclusive clan. More than E3, PAX is for us. It is an incredible event in which gamers from across the country, and hopefully the world, can come together and really just hang out with other gamers, sign out video games both old and new, and just have a lot of fun with gamers you've never met before. Sure, there's XBL, PSN, and Friend Codes, but it's just not the same as actually being there with another gamer. I love just being able to pic up a mic with 4 random people playing The Beatles: Rock Band, and start singing. Not to mention the panels for those hoping to break into the gaming industry, the demos that more and more companies are bringing, LIKE THE AFOREMENTIONED MEGAMAN UNIVERSE, as well as the concerts. Like The Protomen? Well they're performing this year.

So, if you have the means, I highly recommend you plan a vacation one year to try to go. Trust me when I say, it's 100% worth it. I honestly wish I could afford to go to both PAX Prime & PAX East.

Kotobukiya Bluesily Bought Instantly
August 30, 2010, 04:41:40 AM by Protoman Blues

Also new on the sexy Blues front is Blues, rather the Kotobukiya Blues figure which can now be seen in all his gray, colorless, and awesome detail. This will be the third installment of Kotobukiyawesomeness to go along with Kotobukiya Rockman, out next month, and Kotobukiya Roll, which is out in December and available for pre-order right now on certain websites. No official release date on K-Blues, but it's supposedly next year, which is obviously not soon enough. We can hope for Kotobukiya Forte and other's in the future, for the sole purpose that I like saying Kotobukiya! Laughing

Thanks to Protodude's Rockman Corner & the MMN for the info.

Also interesting on the Rockman figure journey is the Rockman Chozokeidamashii Mini-Figures Box of 12 set is sold out just about everywhere, so it's good to know that our beloved hero still manages to make a profit. Cause if there's one thing that can keep our Rockman boozing on E-Cans, it's proof of money making ability!

Keep Boozing on E-Cans, Rockman! For Everlasting Games!

New Trailer proves Signas still as useless as ever...
August 30, 2010, 04:30:12 AM by Protoman Blues
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnunSRIyqWs

Well, at least his Globe-Otter-Tits are as green and firm as ever. Must be the high CPU processor.

Anyway, to save myself time, effort, and because everything I tell you will be from the Protodude's Rockman Corner, here's what he said.

Quote
So... wow. From the looks of it, we just bared witness to some sort of robot uprising taking place within a dystopian classic series universe -- yet -- the trailer cuts to footage of Iris, Alia and Signas (X series characters), toiling away as if they're providing aid to the very situation at hand. Classic/X series crossover, anyone?

According to Stoo.com, the source of the trailer, the game will indeed feature characters from both series, specifically outlining the presence of classic Rockman, Blues (Proto Man), Forte (Bass), X and Zero. Just how these characters will relate to one another is unknown at this time so it's up for speculation.

Aside from the above tidbit about characters, no new details about the game were reveal. However, once again, various Korean sites are promising more details will trickle out in the near future.

If you're new to this whole Rockman Online hubbub, allow me to summarize what we know so far: Rockman Online is a side-scrolling action RPG, boasting 3D graphics on a two dimensional plane, much like Mega Man X8 and Maverick Hunter X. Familiar faces and NPCs will make up the game's cast in addition to online players.

The game is being cooperatively developed by Capcom and NeoWiz with plans to distribute the title exclusively in Korea and Asian markets by the end of 2010. While there's been no word of a release for the West, a Japanese release is likely, if a trademark is to be believed.

Hopefully, more updates sooner rather than later.

-Protodude's Rockman Corner

And so here we are, still in the exact same place we were 3 days ago? Any new thoughts? Any old thoughts? Blues certainly looks awesome, doesn't he? lolwut

MEGAMAN UNIVERSE!!!!!! (PS3/360)
July 16, 2010, 05:08:22 PM by HokutoNoBen
Quote
Today we can exclusively announce that Inafune-san is working on Mega Man Universe for the 360 & PS3. Please find the slightly dry blurb below :-)

Mega Man Universe, the latest entry in Capcom’s long-running Mega Man™ series, will be a revolutionary take on the seminal classic, setting course for a new chapter in classic gaming.
Mega Man games are beloved by fans all over the world. Since their debut in 1987, Mega Man has remained a videogame icon, having starred in more than 140 titles over the last 22 years. The connection he’s made with pop culture at large has extended beyond games and into cartoons, toys, clothing, comics, kid’s meals, and more. Part of that popularity is driven by the series’ ability to evolve over time yet consistently retain the addictive gameplay experience that sets Mega Man games apart.

For the next chapter in this legacy of excellence, Capcom aims to deliver the most creative Mega Man experience yet. In Mega Man Universe, imagination is the star of the game.

“We are thrilled to finally be able to announce Mega Man Universe,” said Kenji Inafune, Head of Research and Development Management for Capcom Entertainment. “This game will break the mold and challenge the conventional wisdom of what a Mega Man game can be. When fans finally get to see it, I believe they’ll envision their most far-out Mega Man dreams coming true.”

Inafune is committed to helping craft a Mega Manexperience that meets the highest expectations of Capcom fans. Most recently Mega Man™ 10echoed this fact when its classic design and compelling gameplay made it one of the most sought after digital downloads of the year. Gamers can expect Mega Man Universeto bring the core experience fans want while delivering on the promise of innovation that Capcom is known for. Its official: classic gaming will never be same again.

Find out more about MMU and lots of other new announcements @ the Capcom Europe Blog next week when we send Fonix out to Comicon in San Diego….

Ustream Channel

Official project or just doing some personal drawings for the blog, the artist Hitoshi Ariga is now at this very moment hosting a live stream known as "Arigamegamix Stream" (similar name as his blog) where he is drawing Rockman comics, sketches and other things, and if you are interested, take a look inside. You can join the chat too, however, it's a good idea if you are able to comment in Japanese. English should be fine too, in small doses or transcribed in kana.

Capcom-Unity Contest the Third
July 02, 2010, 02:38:47 AM by Rock Miyabi
Well, this one isn't completely Mega Man related. But enough of it is. And it involves another rare Mega Man prize, so that makes it newsworthy.

After holding two recent batches of fanart contests focusing solely on a certain series (Classic and Zero), things are getting mixed up a bit over at Capcom Unity. Now it's time for some creative crossovers.

Being called "Worlds of Capcom," the only requirements for this contest are that you create some type of NEW art that contains some kind of Capcom-series crossover. All characters in your pic must be property of Capcom. And preferably be PG-13 in content.

There will be multiple winners again, as chosen by Capcom employees from the US, Europe and Japan. Prizes seem to have something in common: autographs. From the rules page, they include: "a Mega Man t-shirt signed and drawn on by Inafune-san, an autographed (by Inafune-san) Zombrex: Dead Rising Sun movie script (this is pending), an autographed copy of Monster Hunter Tri (signed by the producer and director), RE5 poster signed by the dev team, and MORE."

The deadline for this contest is Monday, July 12th, at 9 AM PST. As usual, send a link to your entry to jgonzo with the subject "Capcom Worlds Fan Art" and a short description of what your pic is all about. Only one submission per person.
